Gotta Capture 'Em All! by Anthony Amaral

"This photo was taken due to the inspirations from a box I found hidden away in my attic. I found that the colors used for Pokemon were always bold and bright. When I used the cards to create the complimentary colors in the photo; I found great results. I hope everyone enjoys this theme and feels the same nostalgia that I felt."

Bancroft Tower by David Harvill

"Bancroft Tower sits high on a steep hill overlooking WPI and downtown Worcester. While you can't see the football games from there, the announcer's voice usually carries nicely. The small park is popular with folk who like castles, towers, or who just want to step out of the modern world for a few minutes."

Lonely Mallardy by Jesse Krinsky

"I took this photo of a lonesome duck, bobbing in the Charles River, with a Nikon D80 camera and a Nikon AF Nikkor 80-200mm lens. My exposure time was 1/1000s, focal length: 200mm, F-number: 5, ISO: 640. Unfortunately, it was very cloudy when I shot this photo, so the contrast and saturation were not what I hoped for, but I was able to fix some of that in Photoshop."

Fenway, Off Season by Robert J. Lemos

"I like to visit baseball stadiums no matter what time of year. During this recent Fenway Park tour, I convinced the guides to let me stray from the pack in order to get this shot of Fenway specifically for this project. They were extremely helpful in advising me which vantage points would render me the most satisfying images. I had to hurry, though! I was only allowed a few moments to myself before having to rejoin the group once the tour started moving again. Shot with my Nikon D3000 and 18-55mm kit lens in Aperture Priority at ISO 400, f/5.6, -0.3 EV @ 18mm, 1/80."

When Art meets Art by Tracy Selina Chan

"The theme of this image is a pile of unintentional arranged drawing supplies. I am always believed in the beauty of the most banal still life subjects. For this particular banner for our class website where designed for the usage of student photographers, I decided to capture the art tools of another form of arts, in contrast to the tools that we use to take this picture --- cameras. I used a spot lights on only one side of the props to create heavy shadows in attempt to add another complicated layers in the image to enhance a dynamic sense. I merged my initial T.S.C into the image and pick a yellow-brownish to develop a slice of nostalgia to the scene."

The Middle of Harvard Stadium by Mike Tomei

"I was able to get into Harvard Stadium when the place was almost vacant. I had the opportunity to find an exact 50 yard line seat to frame this shot perfectly. Sitting on the cold, concrete seats I couldn't help but think of the over 100 years of history that the stadium had seen."

Snowy Amalga Harbor by Shelley Westover

"This photo was taken at Amalga Harbor in Juneau, Alaska. It had been snowing for days and this photo was taken during one of the extremely brief moments of my trip that the snow stopped falling. The cloud cover, however, was still extremely low and there was no direct sunlight. To get to this location, I hiked on a snow-covered trail to the opening of a salt chuck where we were trying to shoot the opening of a salt chuck during an unusually high tide (causing the water to flow backwards)."

Water Explosion by Priya Makhijani

"My attempt at high speed flash photography. Many a balloons were poked in my balcony and many a downstairs neighbors were soaked to achieve this shot. No sound triggers were used, just human to human synchronization explaining the hundreds of failed attempts. An approximate effective shutter speed of 1/3100s using a Canon 580 EX II speedlite, ISO 100, f/18, and 0 EV were used."

Color flare-up by David Langone

"This photo was taken at Talcott Botanic garden, Mount Holyoke College, South Hadley, Massachusetts. The name of this plant is Guzamaria Sanguinea. It grows to approximately 15 incheswide by 6 inches high. Native to the forests of Brazil, the plant is bright green beforeit starts to create red patterns all over, which indicated that the flowers should bloom. These bright yellow flowers erupt from the middle of this plant one month out of the year."

A Southwestern Afternoon by Nick Porfilio

"This photo was taken in St George, Utah in the afternoon of Thanksgiving Day 2011. I believe it’s an interesting part of the state to take a photo since most people tend to think of mountains, snow and skiing when they think of Utah. This characterization is certainly true, however, it is an often overlooked fact that southwestern Utah is actually more akin to desert and Grand Canyon-esque landscapes than that of its snowier north."
