Colorful Wall by Chris Thayer
"Colors appear in metallic tiles lining the walls of the New England Aquarium. The picture, taken at night with a Lumix FZ-8, was shot for 8 seconds at ISO 100, f/3.3, +0.66 OE @ 34.8 mm."

Emerald Tree Boa by Dennis Stevens
"This is a photo I took at the Philadelphia ZOO in November of 2009. The camera set up was ISO1600, f4.2, 1/90, 130mm with a Nikon D70 and Nikon 70-300mm zoom lens on a monopod. The lighting was not great (thus the ISO1600) but close up with a long lens the photo is not too grainy and the color turned out very nice. My appreciation to the snake which remained very still for the photo."

Autumn's Palette by Lisa Derendorf
"Captured this fall on a walk around a New England neighborhood, this image containing striking reds set against varying greens, made for an inviting image almost good enough to eat. The complimentary colors of red and green are perhaps more typical of a Christmas theme rather than a typical autumn scene but as they happen to be a favorite decorating scheme of mine, it came as no surprise that I would be drawn to this image for this type of project involving color and design. This image was shot at f2.8, at 1/750s with an ISO of 200 and focal length of 48mm."

Forgotten by Andrew J. Katz
"This is a photo of a coat rack from a building on the abandoned campus of Belchertown State School in Western Mass. It captured, for me, the eerie sense of a place that is no longer used. ISO 400, 35mm, f/1.8, 1/125 second."

Fresh Blue by Dave Rothfarb
"I finished showering one morning and noticed how the light played with the blue translucent folds of the shower curtain. Too inspired to bother to drying off, I snatched a towel, grabbed my camera and snapped some shots. This was my favorite of the bunch. Shutter: 1/60, Aperture: 5.6, ISO 800."

Lost in Boston by Emily Curtin-Phillips
"This is not a composite photograph! I was on the Orange Line T, when I noticed a new map had been placed over the old subway map. Then someone tried to peel it off. I like the way the two layers of the map confuse the meaning of the map."

Jack's Eye by michaeltclark 2009
"Jack is a "rescue" donkey. He's about 3 years old, and lives now on a farm in Littleton, Massachusetts, having been saved by the farm's owner (a family friend) from the glue factory or wherever it is that unwanted donkeys go. He's a very friendly guy: on the day I visited him and his farm animal friends, he was working real hard to bust out of his pen to nuzzle me with that big snout of his. When he couldn't do that, he decided that he didn't like the sound of my camera clicking in his face and went off to sulk under his canopy. I took this shot at very close range, while Jack was still cooperating, with a 50mm prime lens set to f/5.6 at 1/100s and ISO 100."

After the Rain by Judy Partington
"F 2 on 50 mm prime lens, 1/125 at ISO 100. No color or exposure correction. Only modification was the size change using the banner project parameters. This is an image of a glass cube/seat in Harvard Square after a rain shower."

Lost Identities by Claudette Agustin
"How easy is it to lose your identity in a world full of sameness? These charming wooden dogs are found at the Faneuil Hall Market. In a sea of materialism, the eyes are drawn to the stacking clones of these handmade dogs. They are the reflections of the herds of people that come to visit the Hall, lost in the blur, trying to find uniqueness."

Heartland by Rebecca Gaffney
"I took this photo because I was so enamored with the subject - a map of the United States made entirely of reclaimed license plates (artist-Aaron Foster). The bright colors, rough texture of the metal and variety of shapes were of particular interest, because they would show up well on a small website banner. The photograph's specifics: 55mm focal length, f/2.8, 1/20s, ISO 100, exposure bias +1.0 stop."

Holiday Bags by yva_e7
"This is part of a window display in a Charles Street storefront. The row of bags in the same hobo style but in various colors caught my eye. I thought they might be the perfect holiday gifts for the ladies on my list. I took the photo to remember to return once I started my holiday shopping. I used a 50mm f/1.8 lens and took the photo around 8.45pm. The holiday colored bokeh was a welcome surprise."

Christmas by Olga
"The day after Thanksgiving we are starting to celebrate Christmas/New year. So my e7 banner is a crop from our Christmas tree photo. If you notice the image is slightly out of focus – it was a simple arty trick to hide the imperfections of the tree and to imitate the classic American Christmas card theme."

City Reflections by Karen M. True
"The photo was taken on Broad Street in Boston. It is a shot of chrome banner showing the street number of the business on it. (I did not include the number in this photo.) I noticed that the buildings across the street were reflected in the banner and chose to focus on their reflected images. I used a 42 mm lens at f/9 at 1/20 sec with ISO 400."

glow by Jess T. Dugan
"I took it using the camera set on manual focus and choosing to take it intentionally out of focus to allow for a softer, diffused feeling, in the spirit of the holiday season. It is meant to provide an overall warm feeling without being too descriptive."
